August 10, If your stats appear here and you want them removed please just say so. That demo is pretty impressive: Do you realise that you have "hit forex ceiling" with the EURCHF pair right there? It will not trade above 10 lots even though the strategy is probably calculating a bigger lot size. If you want to change this then just alter your "maxlots" setting to something higher than But you get the credit as it is totally forex your settings. It didn't cross my mind to change the maxlots. Thanks for the reminder. But, in a live situation, aren't the bigger lots more slippery in terms of slippage and difficulty in filling? I wonder if there is some level that it would be best to keep the lots constrained to. Perhaps more a function of broker? May 08, Hi, Can you please share those settings here? Would it work with little deposit size of USD as well, micro lots? I've not quite reached these starry realms yet in manual trading. With FAPTurbo i have seen people run into problems with as little as 2 full lots though with some brokers. I think 10 lots is a reasonable cap for FAPTurbo, no matter who the broker is assuming it is an ECN one though, otherwise i'd stop at 5 lotsto avoid liquidity problems and partial fills in what is a difficult time of day to trade. Donna, That is great info to know. That makes sense that the lot size was chosen by default to top out at about 10 then. Got a big hit early today for over -2K. But the other trades more than make up for it. Again, probably different live, testing with bigger lots on thin trading? Yes, backtest results are not reliable at all and can only give you a very rough guide as to what to expect. They do allow you to quickly eliminate if a strategy is totally rubbish or not, since if it cannot pass the backtest then it is not going to trade live very well, that is certain. In reality you will probably get a lot less profit. Is there a way around the no US residents rule. They seem to be consistently better that Alpari US. I think I will call them Monday to see if they can work something out. It is highly unlikely my EA will live trade anywhere close to my demo stats. I have head that FXcbs's spreads on live are identical to demo. That would be nice, and would parallel my results, except for testing and off quotes that seem to be part of the reality of trading live. Yes, pips a week is about average for me if i was to sit and concentrate fully on trading which i dont have time to do right now - that is, 40 pips per trading day, but to begin with pips a month is a great start. Actually, any number of pips a month will be great, as long as you are making money that is what counts. I trade fairly low lot sizes because i like to play it safe, so i need to go for maximum pip numbers really. Some pro traders i know average over pips a month or more.
